From the beautiful Parco della Pieve, to the tower of San Valerio, walking on little-known paths in the southern area of Cavalese.
A simple walk that allows you to discover some historic places in Cavalese, including the Tower of San Valerio, that overlooked the former town of Cadrobio, the ancient Venetian sawmill and the old railway line. The several dry-stone walls surrounding the path testify to the absolute need to create flat terraces for crops.

THE 10 RULES FOR HIKERS
Please note that the practicability of the itineraries in a mountain environment is strictly linked to the contingent conditions and is therefore influenced by natural phenomena, environmental changes and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this page may have changed. Before leaving for a tour, make sure the path you will approach is still accessible by contacting the owner of the mountain hut, the alpine guides or the visitor centres of the nature parks, the info offices of the local tourist board.
The circular walk starts behind the hill close to the bar and the tennis courts, in the Parco della Pieve. After a few meters, the downhill path crosses the road where the Val di Fiemme railway once ran. Following the dirt road, you arrive in a short time at the crossroads to reach the Tower of San Valerio. After admiring the view, descend along a paved road to Sottocastello. From here, turn right towards the meadows until you reach a cantilevered platform over the valley. From here you can admire a glimpse towards the “Cavalese Waterfall”.
In a few minutes, you can reach the Ancient Venetian Sawmill, which is still functioning. From the beginning of July to the beginning of September, the guided tour (by reservation) demonstrates how, thanks to the power of water, wooden boards were once obtained from the fir trees of the Val di Fiemme for construction purposes. Continue uphill along the paved road, turn left after the 2-hairpin bends, and follow a country road towards a long climb facilitated by 83 wooden steps. A dirt road leads you then to via Brunetta and via Fan near the Fiemme hospital. Continue downhill and take Via Pasquai on the right and then Via Cavallaia reaching Piazza Ress.
It is possible to reach Cavalese with Trentino Trasporti public buses from all the villages in the valley.
Drive until you reach the center of Cavalese and then head to the Stadio del Ghiaccio (ice stadion).
Big parking lot near the ice stadion.
