Safe track and, although long, not difficult.
THE 10 RULES FOR HIKERS
Remember, snowpack stability is subject to sudden and unforeseeable changes and shifts. Always check the local avalanche before departure and make sure you gather all possible information concerning current conditions from the local Mountain Guides. GPS tracks are merely indicative of the more standard routes but must not be followed blindly without first checking current slope and terrain conditions. Correct orientation may be a problem at times along the higher stretches of this route due to fog or low cloud cover.
WAY UP Walk toward the wood along the valley where the stream Travignolo flows; pass first Malga Venegia (1778 m), then Malga Venegiota (1824 m). Go on to the road which turns slightly right (south) leaving on your left-side some summer trails and walk uphill passing in front of the ropeway conveyor that serves Mulaz mountain hut. Right after leave on your left-hand another trail to Mulaz mountain hut and with the steepest part of the track with some bends you will reach Baita Segantini (2174 m). In a short time, going north, you will get to Costazza peak (2282 m).
WAY DOWN On the same itinerary.
Warm and waterproof winter clothes. Spare shirt, gloves, wool cap, sunglasses, sunscreen, water, snacks, hiking shoes and hiking poles.
It’s COMPULSORY to carry with you an avalanche rescue kit consisting of avalanche transceiver, probe and shovel.
