A ring walk that, starting from the Grumes village (Altavalle), passes throught the ancient farm of German origin among meadows, cultivated fields and wide panoramic views.
Walk in the tranquillity of the woods to rediscover the ancient Masi of Grumes, a mountain corner which has managed to preserve the atmosphere of its origins, dating back to the Middle Ages. Names and toponyms of places trace the foundation of the Masi back to the German immigrations that involved Trentino between the 11th and 16th centuries, encouraged by the Tyrolean Lords of Koenigsberg and the Prince-Bishop of Trento to increase tithes and guard an important connection route between Tyrol and the Adige Valley. For about four centuries after their arrival, the German farmers in the area of the Masi di Grumes maintained their own language and customs, profoundly influencing the local culture. The trail connects the Greggion, Ferrai, Pojeri, Todescat, Giovanni, Gaiardi, Noldi, Orion and Pinteri farms in a loop, set in an amphitheatre of woods and meadows.
