The Doss Zelòr archaeological site is located a few hundred meters from the town of Castello di Fiemme, on the right of the Avisio stream and is surrounded by numerous porphyry bumps modeled during the last glacial period. Doss Zelòr stands on the top of a well-defended bump, now partly reduced to pasture, which was frequented in the protohistoric era due to its characteristics as a"casteller". The eponym of the town refers to a castle, in fact, some documentary sources from the late 12th and early 14th centuries refer to the castrum Flemis.
