Cembra is the homeland of curling, a sport born in the open air on the icy surface of Lago Santo at 1200 mt a.s.l. Here you can find one of the few covered structures (with two curling sheets) in northern Italy. Some athletes of the Italian national team are born here (Retornaz, Mosaner, Giovannella, Arman). The curling Italian team managed to win the bronze medal at the World Championships of Las Vegas 2022 and two gold medals of the mixed double at the Olympics Games of Beijing 2022, won by Amos Mosaner and Stefania Costantini, athlete from Cortina d’Ampezzo.
But what is curling? If you are curious to discover this discipline visit the Palacurling of Cembra, where, thanks to the licensed instructors, you will get to know this sport and you will have the opportunity to watch competitions of professional athletes. But not only - the Palacurling hosts musical and folkloristic events too, for the whole family.
The structure is built on three floors: the Club House, a surface around 60 sq.mt., with a dining area, disability services, a meeting room and terraces to watch the matches. On the underground floor there are the changing rooms, the toilets and the two curling sheets. Opened in 2006, the Palacurling hosts the Curling and the Wheel Curling Italian Championships. If you are a beginner there is the possibility to rent the necessary equipment and learn this sport thanks to qualified instructors.
