For generations, the Gottardi Family has passed down its love for the land and heroic mountain viticulture.
In the past, agriculture represented the only source of income for farmers, even though it was and still is extremely difficult due to the valley’s geographical features.
As time passed, the locals managed to get the most out of the steep slopes of the valley by extracting porphyry. This new activity served as an important boost for the local economy.
While the Gottardi grandparents cultivated the land, the children remained in the porphyry industry. Despite this, they didn’t forget their peasant roots and invested in the renewal and diversification of grape varieties focusing on quality production.
That’s how Franco and Carlo created the Tenuta Gottardi winery, a company that produces wines and sparkling wines.
