We load the strollers in the cable car, enjoying the amazement of the children at the sight of the stream and the tops of the trees from above. We easily reach the wide pastures of the green basin of Salanzada, and discover the noisy charm of the imposing Cavalese waterfall.
The path in the woods that descends towards Salanzada is unpaved but comfortable (however, the country stroller is preferred), cool and shady even on the hottest days. After about 3 km, here is the Salanzada clearing: a bucolic glimpse where the ringing of grazing cows is the background for the hustle and bustle of hikers and bikers. From here the path is a gentle descent towards the Cavalese waterfall. A roar of splashes, jumps and icy waters that peep out from the lush surrounding vegetation. The comfortable and asphalted Fiemme cycle path takes you back to the starting point.

Suggestions
There is a beautiful playground at the arrival of the cable car, Cermislandia, but the risk is that your children will never want to leave! Malga Salanzada also offers a small playground. Here a stop to taste the "fortaie" (fried pastries served with jam) is almost a must! We also recommend the picnic area near the Monumental tree "Il Pezo de Gazolin".

Starting point
Dos dei Laresi (Midway station cablecar Alpe Cermis)
Directions

Take the Cermis cable-car from Cavalese to the midway station (Dos dei Laresi). To the right of the Alpine cabin and the playground, take the even unsurfaced road following signposts for ‘Salanzada’.

After reaching the ‘Agritur’ take the unsurfaced road to the left marked ‘Cascata’. After 100 metres turn right onto the road leading down through the meadows (with the green and blue markings for mountain bike trails).

At the Alpine cabin turn right and follow the trail marked for mountain bikes along the edge of the wood. Descend along the road bearing left and cross the bridge over the Rio Valmoena to the ‘Il Pezo del Gazolin’ monumental fir tree.

Turn left into a clearing (with barbecue facilities) and from here take the forest road which leads down to the waterfall (Cascata). After the hamlet, turn right and walk along the cycle path to the cable-car station on the valley floor.
