This 4-day circular trekking is a very versatile proposal as it allows you to choose between several variants with different difficulties. For this reason, it can be tackled both by those approaching multi-day trekking for the first time and by experienced people.

The map trace shows the most challenging route. The MEDIUM and EASY variants are described in each stage in the FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS section.

The itinerary offers a spectacular view of the Lagorai Chain and the Pale di San Martino. Along the entire route, there are huts and refreshment points where you can take a break, eat, and stay overnight. The trail leads to the discovery of some little-known routes, among alpine ponds and World War I trenches, a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the nature and history of the Fiemme Valley. After the first two days dedicated to exploring Alpe Lusia, among paths characterized by a great variety of rocks and porphyry outcrops, with the Dolomites as a backdrop, on the third and fourth days you literally immerse yourself in the beauty of the Pale di San Martino, with their soaring peaks and postcard landscapes. Almost the entire route develops within the territory of the Paneveggio - Pale di San Martino Nature Park, a protected natural area since 1967.

Starting point
Rifugio Capanna Cervino
Directions

LONG ROUTE: from Rifugio Capanna Cervino, head downhill along the dirt road that leads to Passo Rolle or along the trail until you reach a basin where the Castellazzo chairlift starts. Turn right onto the road towards Malga Juribello, crossing the pasture at the foot of Monte Castellazzo. Upon reaching the hut, turn right and follow the signs for Pian dei Casoni, first crossing the pasture and then entering the woods, with a passage near a stream. At another crossroads, turn left and follow the path (also used by mountain bikes) leading toward Paneveggio. Upon reaching the paved road, follow it to the left for 100 meters, then take the forest road with signs for "Paneveggio" and "Sentiero Marciò." Once you reach the Visitor Center of the Paneveggio Nature Park (which is definitely worth a visit), continue on the paved road to the right until you reach the bus stop area. From here, take the forest road to the left with signs for Forte Dossaccio and, in the locality of Chetà, follow the signs for Castelir passing through meadows dotted with charming wooden huts. (14.6 km - 175 meters ascent - 715 meters descent)

MEDIUM ROUTE: from Rifugio Capanna Cervino, head downhill along the dirt road that leads to Passo Rolle or along the trail until you reach a basin where the Castellazzo chairlift starts. Turn right onto the road towards Malga Juribello, crossing the pasture at the foot of Monte Castellazzo. Upon reaching the hut, turn right and follow the signs for Pian dei Casoni, first crossing the pasture and then entering the woods, with a passage near a stream. At another crossroads, turn right onto the path that leads to Pian dei Casoni, from where the shuttle to Paneveggio departs. Check the shuttle times here (4.6 km - 406 meters descent). From Paneveggio, the public buses return to the Bellamonte Castelir or Predazzo lifts.

SHORT ROUTE: from Rifugio Capanna Cervino, head downhill along the dirt road that leads to Passo Rolle or along the trail until you reach the paved road. At the curve, there is the bus stop returning to the Bellamonte Castelir or Predazzo lifts. (Just under 1 km - 122 meters descent)
