Sustainability

Val di Fiemme and Val di Cembra are promoting environmental, territorial and social sustainability. In the tourist sector,

they focus on offering experiences that respect the surrounding environment, encouraging at the same time sustainable practices among the accommodation facilities. The management of natural resources is a priority, with particular attention to forest sustainability and the use of renewable energy sources.

The valleys are also known for their social well-being, with many associations that promote sports activities and solidarity actions. Furthermore, Val di Fiemme is a unique productive district of its kind, with industries specialized in various sectors related to personal care and to respect the environment. Val di Fiemme and Val di Cembra work to preserve the beauty and the untouched nature of the mountains, raising awareness among the community and visitors about the importance of conservation for future generations. At the end, the valleys stand out for eco-friendly practices' adoption in several settings, such as the biolake in Predazzo for its eco-friendly water management and use of renewable energy sources in the local production of biomass and wood pellets.

Eco-friendly certification GSTC-Global Sustainable Tourism Council

We believe in a process of  improvement and attention to sustainability and responsible management; for this reason, we have chosen to commit to obtaining a sustainability certification

We care to know your opinion, and we ask you to answer a brief questionnaire useful for gathering opinions and perception of guests and residents on these topics. With the contribution of everyone, we could together achieve the objective of certification according to the GSTC-Global Sustainable Tourism Council standard.

Sustainable Fiemme and Cembra
and towards GSTC certification

In 2003, Fiemme was the first valley to obtain eco-certification for its forests, which are carefully managed by a thousand-year-old institution, the Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme

Throughout the year, experiences and activities are organised with respect for the environment and local culture and traditions

With the project ‘Fiemme e Cembra without Limits’ the Fiemme and Cembra valleys are committed to making the area as accessible as possible: barrier-free facilities, inclusive sports activities and services.

Our valleys are active in the area with cross-cutting projects, such as WATERWISE and other Citizen Science and reforestation initiatives together with WOWnature.

Val di Fiemme is a unique manufacturing district, with companies specialised in various sectors related to personal care and respect for the environment.

The 2003 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships held in Val di Fiemme were the first eco-certified World Championships.

Val di Fiemme and Val di Cembra promote environmentally sustainable choices, encouraging the use of bicycles, organising Car-Free Days and offering tourists sustainable holidays.
