This ascent follows a trail made in the past by Austro-Hungarian soldiers, now the smooth provincial road no. 31. From Molina di Fiemme the road climbs steadily in the first stretch, becoming steeper in the last part.
Passo Manghen is popular in summer because it is the starting point for several excursions in the Lagorai mountains. It links Val di Fiemme with Valsugana.
