The three lakes are blue pearls set in porphyry.
The excursion offers magnificent views of Cima Cece (the highest peak of the Lagorai chain) and the Dolomites of Val di Fassa. It is an itinerary that allows you to fully savor the wild nature of the Lagorai and to touch the variety of small rivers and alpine lakes that it hosts. As often happens when walking in the Lagorai, after the Forcella Moregna, there are remains of entrenchments and walkways of the Great War.

It is funny that one of the three lakes, the "Lago Bruto" (meaning ugly in italian), is actually one of the most beautiful and deepest lakes in the Lagorai!
THE 10 RULES FOR HIKERS
Please note that the practicability of the itineraries in a mountain environment is strictly linked to the contingent conditions and is therefore influenced by natural phenomena, environmental changes and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this page may have changed. Before leaving for a tour, make sure the path you will approach is still accessible by contacting the owner of the mountain hut, the alpine guides or the visitor centres of the nature parks, the info offices of the local tourist board.
From the village of Predazzo take the road that leads to Valmaggiore. Park near the Valmaggiore Alpine Diary (1.630 m) and take the forest road No. 339 with directions to Lake Moregna.
The road (former mule track of the war), which later turns into a path, first goes into the woods and then comes out in the pasture. As soon as the path becomes almost flat, turn left where, after a few minutes, you see first Malga Moregna and then Lago di Moregna (2.058 m).
Retrace our steps and continue uphill, always on path No. 339 towards Lago delle Trote and Lago Brutto. At the junction, first take the path that leads to Lago delle Trote (2.103 m), then retrace your steps and continue for a short while until you reach Lago Brutto (2.207 m).
From here you can return back along the same route or continue on path No. 349 which leads to Forcella di Moregna (2.397 m).
From the Forcella take trail No. 349B which leads again to Lake Moregna walking along stretches of mule track. You return then back to Malga Valmaggiore along the route taken in the outward journey. SUMMER 2024: DAIRY (MALGA) VALMAGGIORE CLOSED
