Winter Olympics 2026
The competitions at the Ski Jumping Stadium and the Cross Country Center

Val di Fiemme will host the cross-country skiing and ski jumping competitions of the XXV Olympic Winter Games Milan-Cortina 2026. The choice rewards the commitment and quality of the winter and sports offerings of Val di Fiemme, which hosts the best facilities in Italy dedicated to the two winter disciplines and, above all, boasts an important tradition in international competitions. The Ski Jumping Stadium in Predazzo and the Cross-Country Stadium in Lago di Tesero are the best expressions of a winter tourism offer that boasts four areas dedicated to alpine skiing, included in the largest carousel in the world, the Dolomiti Superski.

Cross-Country Stadium Lago di Tesero

Host Site Winter Olympic Games 2026

For more than 50 years the courses in Lago di Tesero have been a great place for practicing cross-country skiing. Its enviable position and its consolidated experience in the artificial snow production, also thanks to a cutting-edge system, guarantee perfect tracks. For this reason the centre is open from December to the middle of March, despite it is located only 900 m above sea level.

The stadium annually hosts the FIS Cross-Country Ski World Cup competitions - with the final stages of the famous Tour de Ski - and Nordic Combined World Cup. It was also home of the 3 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Val di Fiemme (19912003 and 2013) and will be one of the Host Sites of the MilanoCortina2026 Winter Olympic Games.

The center offers a great variety of tracks divided into numerous sectors. The routes may vary, but they are all quite demanding and very technical. The connection with the Marcialonga track guarantees the possibility of having more than 8 km of an almost flat track, both in the direction of Predazzo and in the opposite direction, towards Molina di Fiemme.

The complete route develops on a 3,5 km loop, from which 3 other shorter routes are obtained:

  • Course "Lago" 3,5 km | Difficulty: high - Difference in height 140 m
  • Course "Paracara" 2,5 km east | Difficulty: medium - Difference in height 100 m
  • Course "Chiesetta" 2,5 km west | Difficulty: medium - Difference in height 100 m
  • Course "Campo Scuola" 1 km | Difficulty: easy - Difference in height 0 m

The Sports Center Lago di Tesero also offers an openair ice skating rink, equipment rental, changing rooms with showers and toilets, ski-waxing rooms, a nice restaurant and a wide free parking area.

Marcialonga Track

The legendary Marcialonga track is available from Christmas time and offers the opportunity to ski on a mainly flat track which can be divided into 4 different sectors, starting from the lowest one at 800m als in Molina di Fiemme, to the highest in Moena, 1.200m asl.

Ski Jumping Stadium Predazzo

Host Site Winter Olympic Games 2026

Considered one of the best in the world, complete with large and small hills. In Predazzo, near the departure of the cableway of the Ski Center Latemar, stands the great Ski Jumping Stadium which, starting from the first World Cup races in 1990, has hosted countless national and international competitions, including the three FIS Nordic World Ski Championships of Val di Fiemme (1991, 2003 and 2013). The FIS Nordic Combined World Cup and Ski Jumping World Cup are organized annually. The Ski Jumping Stadium of Predazzo will also be one of the host venues for the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

The use of this facility is allowed only for competitions and training. In addition to the Italian National Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined Team, many foreign teams choose this stadium for their summer training camp, to prepare the winter season.

Characteristics and details

The two main hills are an HS 136 with a K 120 point (Large Hill) and an HS 104 with a K 95 point (Normal Hill), which can be used both in winter (snow) and in summer (plastic). Both official distance records (136 and 107.5 m) belong to the Polish champion Adam Małysz, who set them during the 2003 World Championships (Japanese Ryōyū Kobayashi equaled the record of 136 meters during the 2019 World Cup). The unofficial record from the Large Hill, however, was marked by the German Nordic Combined athlete Eric Frenzel during a training at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2013 (138.5 m), while in 2016 the Italian Nordic Combined athlete Samuel Costa recorded a jump of 142 meters, result not taken into account, having fallen (without consequences), in the landing phase.

There are also 3 "school" hills, used both in winter and summer: HS 66 (point K 60) / HS 35 (point K 33) / "Stalimen Scuola" / HS 20 (point K 19) "Fiamme Gialle" - HS 16 (point K 15) "Baby".
