This route, straddling Trentino and South Tyrol, with an elevation gain of about 1000 m, mostly crosses the Monte Corno Natural Park passing through the small hamlet of Cauria.
Along the route dotted with numerous huts, you pass through two suggestive biotope areas: the La Lot marsh and the Vedes pond. At the end of the route, a stop at the nearby and welcoming Potzmauer refuge with its typical specialties represents the ideal way to end the adventure.

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR SUSTAINABLE BIKING
ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET!
From the parking lot located about a hundred meters after the hamlet of “Giovanni,” you ascend to the Potzmauer Pass on a forest road. At the pass, follow the signs for Caoria/Valdonega and enter the forest along the beautiful forest road until, near the Gianneto hut, the road becomes steeper and slowly gives way to a nice path that leads us to upper Valdonega. Passing the Zuccherin hut, continue with ups and downs along the E5 trail which, after becoming a forest road, leads to the church and the last houses of Cauria (fountain), beyond which you descend along an asphalt road before starting to climb again towards the Cauria Pass. After a hairpin turn, ignoring the ascending road, continue on a gentle slope towards Cauria until it ends and a technical and sometimes steep descent begins along a path that leads back downhill. Returning to the road that leads to the Cauria Pass and following trail no.4, you reach again the last houses of the settlement and, turning left, continue on the forest road first uphill (with the possibility to cut some hairpins with a steep path) then downhill towards Grauno until reaching a junction where, following the signs for La Lot, you start climbing again reaching near Monte dell’Orso. From here, with ups and downs on trails and small roads, you briefly return to Valdonega where, near a small pond, following the signs for the Vedes pond you start climbing again. From the Vedes pond, with bog characteristics, begins an exciting and sometimes technical descent that leads back to the Potzmauer Pass, which is reached by retracing a short section of the forest road traveled on the way up. The last section runs on the same road of the ascent to the starting point.
You can reach the Grumes farms using the B102 line of the extra-urban public transport, getting off at Grumes di Altavalle and riding uphill by MTB to the farms in about half an hour.
Coming from the A22 Brenner motorway, both from south and north, exit at the Trento north toll booth (distance from toll booth 22.5 km), drive along S.S. 12 del Brennero towards north until the Lavis junction, then continue on S.S. 612 Lavis - Castello di Fiemme which leads to Grumes, then head towards Masi di Grumes.
Parking in the town center and at the Le Fontanelle Cultural Circle or at the Casel dei Masi restaurant.
