The hill of San Giorgio, which once housed a fortified structure, was demolished in the summit to enlarge it and give rise to the new sacred building.
Construction of the parish church began in 1850, to be completed in 1856 and consecrated in 1864. The artistic main portal highlights the figures of San Giorgio and Santa Lucia, the town's patron saint.
The interior is punctuated by three spacious naves, the central one dominated by the main dome with the Madonna del Rosario depicted. The Neoramino bell tower, detached from the church, was built in 1907/8.

To the north of the parish church is the Church of the Madonna of Lourdes, which once belonged to the Castle of San Giorgio. Its original Gothic forms were adapted in later eras. The consecration dates back to 1216.
