Time left until the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026
Val di Fiemme is surrounded by two natural parks and the stunning view of the Dolomites, which have been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Dolomites in Val di Fiemme comprise the Corno Bianco, which dominates the South Tyrolean canyon of Bletterbach, the Latemar mountains, with its incredible summits, and the Natural Park of Paneveggio Pale di San Martino.
Fiemme is famous for being “The Valley of Harmony” thanks to the prestigious resonance trees used to produce sounding boards for pianos and violins, once appreciated by Stradivari and nowadays still wanted by internationally famous luthiers. You can breathe and hear the melody of nature in the Forests of Violins or in the Sounding Forest, where worldwide famous musicians “adopt” their favourite spruce.
For this valley, breathing the oxygen produced by 60 million trees (a survey suggests that there are 200 trees per tourist) is not enough: as a matter of fact, we love taking on challenges and set new records. Thanks to our efforts, the houses of over a third of the twenty thousand inhabitants are heated and powered everyday by renewable energy coming from two big district heating plants (in Cavalese and Predazzo) and one of the widest ground photovoltaic plants in Italy (Carano-Ville di Fiemme). Fiemme is also one of the leading Italian resorts in recycling – we have already won a special award given to the most recycling places in Italy.
In 2003, Fiemme was the first valley to eco-certify its forests, which are carefully managed by a thousand-year-old institution, the Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme. In the same year, we organized the first eco-certified Nordic World Ski Championships. Since then, Fiemme has been planning and promoting eco-sustainable events, encouraging the use of bikes, organizing car-free days and giving the possibility of spending environmentally friendly holidays. Furthermore, we have created a network of enterprises and entrepreneurs called “Fiemme PIACE” (Passion, Innovation, Affinity, Competences, Eco-sustainability. The acronym means “LIKE” in Italian) which shares and supports eco-friendly projects.
Val di Fiemme is a unique production district in Italy and in the entire Alpine region, where wellness becomes an economic engine, with internationally renowned companies specializing in different sectors-sports, food, wellness living and music-but all linked by a common vision that focuses on personal care and respect for the environment.
